MAJORS

Majors (11 - 13 years old): The fundamentals (hitting, base running, fielding, and the rules) of the game are emphasised to players. Players (pitchers) pitch to one another in a competitive game (e.g., 6 innings). Balls and strikes are called by a League umpire. Players compete with an emphasis on sportsmanship. Games do count in the standings. Usually games are all played on the weekends. Before each game there is a minimum of one hour practise and then a game played. Doubleheaders (two games played on one day) may occur throughout the season.
IMPORTANT: If a player is turning 13 years of age before the 1st April then the player cannot pitch and can only bat using a wooden bat.
The aforementioned restriction does not apply for players that make our Travel Team which is for boys and girls for the ages of 10 - 13.
Please note that Majors for 2012 is currently full. If you would like to join the waitlist then please email Verity vll@me.com directly. If the waitlist reaches 16 players then we will be able to create 2 new teams. Please also consider joining minors which is open to 9-11 year olds.
